Yonge-Dundas Square conducts promotion

Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto has begun a promotion intended to attract visitors to the venue as COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease. Developed by O2 Planning & Design, the promotion consists of heart shapes placed around the square that highlight things the Toronto residents appreciate about the city. Examples include diversity, shopping, dining and people. The hearts also serve as two-metre social distancing guides. Residents can also submit their favourite aspects of the city via social media, some of which will be displayed on video screens around the square. Yonge-Dundas Square is operated via the City of Toronto through the YDS Board of Management.

“O2 is excited to collaborate with Yonge-Dundas Square to enliven the square with a multi-coloured field of hearts,” said Chris Hardwicke, a principal at O2 Planning & Design. “Each heart carries a message of love and hope for Toronto from its citizens. We hope it invites people to stop by and wander through, perhaps even sharing a heart-to-heart moment.”
