Iovate signs endorsement deals with US college athletes

Iovate Health Sciences International of Oakville, ON has signed endorsement agreements with five US-based college athletes in support of its Six Star Pro Nutrition whey protein product line. These include basketball players Edgar Padilla Jr., Hanna Cavinder and Haley Cavinder, sprinter Moriah Oliveira and gymnast Gage Dyer. According to the company, these are the first deals of their kind since recent changes to US law allowing college athletes to accept paid endorsement agreements. Iovate plans to add additional endorsees in the future. The agreements were reached in collaboration with The Influence Agency of Toronto.

“Over the past few years, our team has collaborated with Six Star Nutrition to execute stellar marketing campaigns with several professional athletes,” said Tom Yawney, director of business development at The Influence Agency. “Being able to translate this area of expertise into the world of collegiate sports is a new and exciting opportunity for our agency and the industry as a whole. It’s been a long time coming, but we’ve officially entered a new era of influencer and sports marketing. There are over 400,000 student athletes in the US who are now able to become influencers and change student marketing for all. We’re thrilled to see the impact of having college athletes become paid partners with global brands and, in turn, grow their brands as well.”
