Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup conducts campaign

The Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup recently retained public relations agency Bubblegum Canada and content marketing firm Swell Content to develop a campaign for the summer. The initiative is intended to highlight the issue of plastic pollution in Canadian waterways. It inludes digital content, an interactive trivia game and a new marina partner online area intended to increase local awareness. It also features a video public service announcement called “Little Bits, Big Problems.” The Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup is an initiative of the Council of the Great Lakes Region and Pollution Probe.
“It’s always great when you can get hands on and combine what you do and what you love in a project that does good for the community,” said Lisa Raffaele, CEO of Bubblegum Canada. “Millions of kilograms of plastic pollution enter the Great Lakes each year and impact the wildlife that depend on the Great Lakes. We knew from the start we wanted to be involved and help spread awareness, encouraging more marinas and community members to actively do their part.”
