DIARY FARMERS TO USE FEWER AGENCIES

Dairy Farmers of Canada has decided to pare down its agencies. Cossette Communication-Marketing of Montreal will handle all advertising and media buying for the organization. Until now, Publicis*BCP handled the $7.5 million butter and logo accounts as well as media buying. Cossette was already handling the $15 million cheese business. The move was made because it is more efficient to work with just one agency and it simplifies operations for employees, a Dairy Farmer's release says. The announcement is related to the fact that the organization will begin planning its 1998 marketing activities in the next few weeks. Allard & Associates of Montreal will continue to handle the organization's nutrition account.
