CBC hires Indigenous advisor

CBC of Toronto has appointed Robert Doane to the newly-created position of Indigenous advisor. He will be based in Prince George, BC. In this position, Doane will support the broadcaster’s ongoing efforts to increase Indigenous representation. Since 2018 he has been director of communications at Carrier Sekani Family Services, a non-profit organization serving 11 member nations on the territory of the Lheidli T'enneh. Prior to that, he held a series of positions at CBC beginning in 2006, including researcher, associate producer, reporter, host and producer.
