DISNEY LOVERS WILL BE SEEING SPOTS

U.S.-based Walt Disney Home Video announced this week that last year's hit, 101 Dalmations will be released on video in April. In a release, the company says it will push the video launch with its largest-ever marketing campaign. National TV and print executions will run in the U.S., in addition to trailers that will be included with other Disney video releases. Tie-in promotions with OREO Cookies and Disney Interactive, which is producing a 101 Dalmations game, will also be part of the campaign. OREO will offer consumers free themed tattoos inside specially-marked boxes as well as "101"-themed activities on the back panels. Buena Vista Home Video Inc. is responsible for the video distribution of Disney movies. Officials at the company's Canadian division in Toronto, Buena Vista Home Entertainment Canada, were unavailable for comment. In Canada, promotional activities for other Disney releases have mirrored U.S. efforts, with a mix of national print and TV. Creative for the ads is handled in-house with Toronto-based Western International Media executing the media buys.
