Uniprix begins Alzheimer's awareness campaign

Montreal-based drug store chain Uniprix has begun an initiative in association with the Alzheimer Society of Canada and the Federation of Quebec Alzheimer Societies. The initiative will include public awareness activities, education programs for staff and the creation of a Uniprix Quality of Life Research Fund. As part of World Alzheimer's Month, Uniprix will launch a campaign called “United for Memory” in September that will focus on the early signs of the disease and ways to reduce risk.

“This partnership demonstrates our commitment to play an even greater role in the well-being of the communities we serve,” said Alain Arel, president of Uniprix. “By combining our efforts with those of the FQAS, our family pharmacists will be able to build on the human side of the practice and make a real difference for their patients.”
