Alzheimer Society begins awareness campaign
By Adnews Staff

The Toronto-based Alzheimer Society of Canada has begun a national campaign intended to raise awareness of issues related to dementia. The online campaign uses the theme, "Yes. I live with dementia. Let me help you understand." It is intended to convey that dementia is only one aspect of a person's life. The campaign features the personal stories of various individuals living with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia. It makes use of a website at <http://www.ilivewithdementia.ca>.
"We're turning the conversation over to the experts," said Pauline Tardif, CEO of the Alzheimer Society of Canada. "We believe sharing the stories of Canadians living with dementia will fuel a more open, supportive and inclusive dialogue around dementia and give confidence to others who have this disease to live their best lives."
