GUARDIAN LAUNCHES FIRST TV CAMPAIGN

Toronto-based Guardian Group of Funds Ltd. has added TV to its mix of advertising this year to promote its mutual funds during the RRSP season. There are two TV ads that use a no-nonsense, straight-talking spokesman. One ad uses a crystal ball, first bouncing, then smashing. The other uses a school of piranhas in, as the ad says, a "feeding frenzy." The national campaign also uses print ads targeting consumers, as well as brokers and financial planners. Each print ad has its owns perspective, using world affairs to communicate how outside variables can affect your clients' portfolios. The campaign was created by the Wolf Group of Toronto.
