CAMPAIGN FOR COIN SET TO KICK OFF

Last week the Royal Canadian Mint unveiled a silver dollar commemorating the 25th anniversary of the historic Team Canada victory in the 1972 Canada-U.S.S.R. hockey series. One side of the dollar features a depiction of the winning goal scored by Paul Henderson. The coin goes on sale this week and can be ordered directly from the Mint. A national TV campaign and print inserts will support the coin's release. It will also be advertised in the Mint's catalogue which is distributed via direct mail. Steve Litt, the Mint's director of marketing told Adnews the ads would begin appearing later this month. Simpson Gilbert Chambers of New Brunswick handled the creative for the ads, while FCB Canada Ltd. of Toronto executed the media buy.
