MICROSOFT UNLEASHES OFFICE 97

U.S.-based Microsoft Corp. introduced its newest software suite to the worldwide market last week which utilizes Internet technologies and features a desktop information manager. Called Microsoft Office 97, the suite has new versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Microsoft Outlook, which is part of Office 97, lets users manage information, track documents and communicate with others. The program integrates e-mail, scheduling, contact management, task management and a journal module for tracking documents and events. Users can also create hyperlinks, publish content on the Web in HTML or Office file formats or HTML documents on their organization's network, and edit Office documents inside their Web browser. In Canada, TV and print advertisng support the release of Office 97. It was created by Weiden & Kennedy of Portland, Oregon. Media Buying Services of Toronto does Canadian media buying.
