Norwegian Cruise Line conducts Giving Joy contest

Norwegian Cruise Line has begun a contest promotion called “Giving Joy” in the United States and Canada. The contest, timed to coincide with Teacher Appreciation Week in May, invites consumers to submit the names of certified or accredited teachers who are “inspiring joy in the classroom.” Fifteen entrants, determined by online voting, will each receive a seven day cruise for two, as well as airfare and accommodations. One teacher will also receive a $15,000 donation to their school. The contest also promotes the North American debut of a new cruise ship called the Norwegian Joy. The effort is being conducted via a website at <http://www.nclgivingjoy.com>.

“Travel is a powerful means of education,” said Andy Stuart, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “It brings people closer to each other and to diverse cultures around the world. It promotes awareness and understanding. It broadens perspectives. Through our Norwegian Cruise Line ‘Giving Joy’ campaign, we celebrate the power of education and travel, and reward teachers who have taken responsibility for our future, our children, and who lean into that responsibility with all they’ve got.”
