Cancer charities begin awareness campaign

Charitable organizations Stand Up To Cancer Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society have begun a new campaign of public service announcements called “Life in the Face of Cancer.” The campaign is intended to raise awareness of the importance of cancer research. It consists of print, television, radio, out-of-home and digital ads. The creative features actor Eric McCormack, who is a spokesperson for Stand Up To Cancer Canada, as well as a number of cancer survivors. The campaign also includes a website at <http://www.standuptocancer.ca/ccs> which offers information about clinical trials of new cancer treatments.

“With roughly 200,000 Canadians diagnosed with cancer each year, we share SU2C Canada’s commitment to fighting and treating cancer,” said Paula Roberts, executive vice-president of marketing and communications at the Canadian Cancer Society. “Eric’s voice is a tremendous asset to drawing attention to our cause and we are proud to collaborate with Eric and SU2C Canada to raise awareness and help Canadians affected by cancer live their lives to the fullest.”
