Toyota holds Save the Manual event

Toyota Canada recently conducted a promotion in Toronto called "Save the Manual" in support of the 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback. The promotion took the form of an event at which consumers could experience driving a car with a manual transmission. The one-day event took place in the parking lot of the company's Canadian headquarters and included the participation of auto racer and television personality Russ Bond. The event also included instructors for participants who may not have driven a manual car before.

"Auto enthusiasts have been singing the praises of the stick shift for a long time now, and with good reason," said Cyril Dimitris, vice-president of Toyota Canada. "We'll always be committed to developing the latest technologies and continuing to raise the bar when it comes to our vehicles, but sometimes, it's great to get back to basics and rediscover a true love of driving.  There's nothing like the visceral connection between you and the road when you're driving stick, and we proved this yesterday right here in our parking lot."
