Videotron debuts new MAtv streaming service

Videotron of Montreal has launched a new online video streaming service for its community television channel MAtv. Located at <http://www.matv.ca>, the free service allows Quebec consumers to view MAtv programs and other local content via a computer or a mobile device. Users can search for programs or browse by category. The site also provides schedule information and information about submitting a television project to the company.
"By renewing its web platform, MAtv is reaffirming its role as a hyperlocal media outlet," said Steve Desgagné, senior director of MAtv. "Technology and television are evolving at warp speed, and MAtv intends to pursue its mission as a community medium that stands out for its uniquely local character and its closeness to the community's citizens."
