CANADIAN TIRE KICKS OFF 75TH BIRTHDAY

Toronto-based Canadian Tire Corp. is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. To kick off the celebrations the retailer has redesigned its Canadian Tire money and will introduce a postage stamp in March. Canadian Tire money is the retailer's customer rewards program. The redesigned money sports a new logo and the size of the denominations is larger and on a white background to enable customers to differentiate among the bills. The stamp uses a father-and-son scene, as well as the company's founders Alfred and John Billes. It will be available at Canadian Tire stores across Canada and at postal outlets. Advertising plans for the 75th anniversary will be announced later this year. Broadcast advertising for Canadian Tire is done by Doner Schur Peppler of Toronto. Print is created in-house.
