New editor and publisher at United Church Observer

Toronto-based Observer Publications has promoted Jocelyn Bell to the position of editor and publisher of The United Church Observer magazine. When she begins work on Jan. 1, she will be only the sixth editor of the publication since it was renamed in 1939. Bell has been the magazine's managing editor since 2006. Prior to that, she was the editor of Childview magazine. She has also worked at the Toronto Star and the Hamilton Spectator. The Observer, founded in 1829, is the oldest continuously published magazine in North America.
