Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres begins online initiative
By Adnews Staff
The Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres and the Human Rights Legal Support Centre have released a new online video intended to inform indigenous people in Ontario about human rights issues. The video depicts a series of examples of discrimination, sexual harassment, profiling and disability accommodation. It also highlights the resources available to address these issues.
"This video highlights everyday examples of racism that indigenous people face," said Sylvia Maracle, executive director of the federation. "It will help educate indigenous people on how to recognize discrimination, assert their rights, and learn how to access human rights supports in Ontario."
