Tourisme Montreal signs agreement with Tourism Administration of Guangzhou

Tourisme Montréal has signed an agreement with the Tourism Administration of Guangzhou Municipality in China. Under the terms of the agreement, the two organizations will collaborate on promotional initiatives intended to increase urban tourism between the two cities. The groups will share knowledge on subject including performance indicators, statistics, welcome strategies, technology and operating procedures. According to Tourisme Montréal, approximately 84,000 Chinese tourists visited the city in 2016 and 110,000 are expected in 2017.
"An increase in direct air links to China is generating excellent development opportunities for Montreal," said Yves Lalumière, president and CEO of Tourisme Montréal. "In addition to attracting more tourists from this strategic market, this memorandum of understanding will allow Tourisme Montréal to learn more about how we can improve Montreal's appeal and bring innovation to the city's tourism offer."
