MADD Canada, Uber Canada sign sponsorship

Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada has formed a sponsorship agreement with ride-sharing company Uber Canada. During what the organizations describe as a long-term, national agreement, Uber will be the official designated driving application of MADD Canada. The joint venture is intended to promote safe and sober driving. The initiative will include efforts to raise awareness and funds to help prevent impared driving. Both organizations will also support regulatory reform promoting greater access to ride-sharing as a road safety service.

"Everyone has the power to prevent impaired driving," said MADD Canada CEO Andrew Murie. "Having safe, convenient and accessible transportation options is critical. Through this exciting new partnership with Uber, we are encouraging Canadians to always make responsible choices and to prevent impaired driving. We thank the Uber driver-partners who are providing safe rides for their customers, and we thank riders who are making the responsible decision to arrange a sober ride home rather than risk driving impaired."
