GoDaddy begins Itty Bitty Ballers promotion

Internet company GoDaddy Canada has begun a promotion in association with Toronto Raptors basketball player Jonas Valančiūnas called "Itty Bitty Ballers." The initiative is intended to demonstrate the ease with with small businesses can set up online stores through its services. The fictional company Itty Bitty Ballers sells miniature Valančiūnas figurines via a website at <http://www.ittybittyballers.ca>. The figurines were developed and produced by Objex Unlimited. Proceeds of the sales of these models will be donated to the MLSE Foundation, which works to improve the lives of young people through participation in sports. The figurines will be available for a limited time.

The initiative also includes a contest component called the "Itty Bitty Ballers Contest for Small Businesses" which encourages participants to start their own small businesses. Consumers can enter by submitting an answer to the question, "What inspired your small business?" Winners will receive up to $5,000 in cash and $2,500 in services from GoDaddy. The contest has its own website at <http://www.ittybittycontest.ca>. It will run until Feb. 20, supported by social media activities.

"We're always looking for ways to help small businesses get online and be successful," said Jill Schoolenberg, vice-president and country manager at GoDaddy Canada. "That's why we're excited to partner with a basketball icon like Jonas Valančiūnas to help create this beautiful new website and bring awareness to the opportunities of small business ownership in Canada."
