General Mills conducts Bake it Possible contest

General Mills Canada of Mississauga, ON has begun a contest promotion for its Pillsbury and Betty Crocker brands called "Bake it Possible." The contest invites consumers to submit original baking recipes using eligible Pillsbury or Betty Crocker products as ingredients. Consumers can enter by posting a picture or video of their dish on Instagram or Twitter using a campaign hashtag. Entries can also be submitted at <http://www.bakeitpossible.com>.

Fifty semi-finalists will be selected based on taste and creativity. Ten finalists will then be selected based on simplicity. These ten will then have their recipes featured in instructional baking videos. They will also compete in a live baking competition in Toronto in March. The winner will be selected by a panel of celebrity judges and will receive the grand prize of $10,000. The winning recipe will also be featured on television, in stores and online.

"We're looking to shine a spotlight on the best new recipes made with Pillsbury or Betty Crocker products," said Alexander Benedet, marketing director for meals and baking at General Mills Canada. "Our products are so versatile and easy to use that we've seen them in hundreds of unique creations. Every day, in kitchens across the country, baking enthusiasts of all skill levels are already creating with Pillsbury and Betty Crocker. We wanted to give these people a chance to showcase their unique creations and share with other food lovers through 'Bake it Possible.'"
