Penguin Random House launches retail store in Toronto

Book publisher Penguin Random House Canada has opened a branded retail store in Toronto called Penguin Shop. The 158-foot-square store is located on the main floor of the office building in which the company has its offices. It sells a selection of the publisher's books, as well as branded merchandise. The store also features a Penguin Picks program that consists of titles recommended by the staff of the company, along with a website at <http://www.penguinshop.ca>. The store was designed by Figure3 of Toronto.
"We are continually in search of innovative ways to bring the books we are so proud to publish to readers," said Brad Martin, president and CEO of Penguin Random House Canada. "As such, we see Penguin Shop as a research and development lab, a place where we can interact directly with consumers."
