MGI SOFTWARE SET TO RELEASE VIDEO PROGRAM
By Adnews Staff
MGI Software Corp. of Richmond Hill, Ont. is preparing to launch a complete video publishing program in January. The software, called VideoWave, can be used to capture, edit and create full motion video for home, office and the Internet. It supports all popular TV standards, video cameras, VCRs, laserdisk players, TV tuners and video capture boards. Users can transfer home videos from a VCR, or directly from a video camera, to a computer and produce multimedia photo albums, or home videos with special effects, text animation, titles, music and narration. Internet users can use VideoWave to organize information downloaded from the Internet. At the COMDEX Fall 1996 convention, the program took second place in the multimedia category. A North American print campaign will be launched in trade journals to coincide with the product's release. MGI does some in-house advertising with help from Group MultiMedia Network of Toronto. Benchmark Communications Inc. does the company's Canadian PR. Other software MGI markets includes: PC PhotoStarter Kit and MGI PhotoSuite.
