CANADA POST FIGHTS BACK WITH AD CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
Canada Post employees want their jobs back. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers launched a national radio and print campaign this week to tell Canadians that the federal government didn't have to fire 10,000 people when it ordered Canada Post to stop delivering flyers earlier this fall. The ads tell people that the government could get rid of super mailboxes and extend door-to-door delivery instead to save the jobs. According to the union, Canada Post's mandate shows that getting out of the flyer and courier business could cost up to $250 million in revenue. The report also concludes that extending door-to-door delivery would cost $70 million. The print ads were created by Jim Goss & Associates and Joff & Maclellan Design, both of Toronto. Stringer, Veroni, Ketchum of Toronto directed the radio ads.
