CD-ROM EXPLORES CANADIAN GEOGRAPHY

IQ Media Holdings Corporation of Toronto launched an interactive geography CD-ROM this week. Called Canadian Geographic Explorer, the software allows users to examine Canada's landscape from several perspectives. As a space traveller, earth observation specialist, geographer, map maker, or ethnographer, users will have access to 3-D satellite images, Canadian astronaut narrations and terrain-simulated flights over Canada. The package also includes map making capabilities, an interactive GeoRiddler game, hot links to the web and an assortment of thematic maps, videos and Canadian Geographic Magazine articles. Ads for the new product are appearing in this month's Canadian Geographic Magazine. A direct mail campaign is also being conducted through the publication. The advertising was produced in-house by IQ. Warwick & Associates of Toronto is handling public relations for the new software. Canadian Geographic Explorer is IQ Media's first release.
