Toronto Silent Film Festival begins promotion

The Toronto Silent Film Festival has begun a social media promotion in support of its 2015 event. The campaign, developed by Red Lion of Toronto, is being conducted through Instagram. It encourages consumers to play an interactive game while viewing a series of video clips from films that will show at the festival. This is the third year the festival has conducted such a promotion.

"Silent films are a personal experience when watched," said Matthew Litzinger, president and chief creative officer at Red Lion. "The scenes accompanied by music make the films unique to each viewer. We wanted to see if we could illustrate that uniqueness in a new way. The odds of someone having the exact same experience as someone else is literally in the hundreds of thousands. To us, it's always exciting when you have a chance to redefine something. In this case, hopefully by looking at a new medium differently, people will start to do the same with an old one."
