B.C. SET TO ATTACK SPONSORS OF VIOLENT TV

The B.C. government is considering a plan to squash violent TV shows by embarrassing the advertisers who sponsor them. Under the plan, violent programs, the stations that show them and the companies that sponsor them would be included in a list published by the government. If the proposal gets the legal go-ahead, it will be enforced within five months. B.C. Education Minister Moe Sihota, the driving force behind the initiative, doesn't feel the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission is strict enough in its approach to violent TV.
