NEW SERVICE FOR INTERNATIONAL JOB SEEKERS

A web site that gives job seekers access to employers around the world will look for an agency in the near future, company CEO Ravi Sahni told Adnews yesterday. The organization, based in Mississauga, Ont., is called the World Wide Employment Network. Sahni said he hopes to have an advertising budget of approximately $500,000. Using the service, job seekers post their resumés on the Network's Web site. The service also provides advice on how people can qualify for immigration to various countries. For a fee, clients will be able to post their resumés to the Web site by e-mail, fax, or regular mail. The job seekers' names and addresses will be kept confidential and will only be released to prospective employers who express an interest in a candidate's qualifications. Employers will be able to search the network free of charge, but will have to pay if they wish to contact candidates for interviews. Sahni said he plans to open several franchises in other countries.
