Jack Astor's prepares potato salad promotion

Restaurant chain Jack Astor's will conduct a promotion in Toronto on Aug. 5 featuring Internet personality Zack Brown. Brown gained notoriety last month when his effort to raise $10 on Kickstarter to make some potato salad attracted $52,000 in donations. Brown will use some of these funds to hold a "Potato Salad Party" for his supporters in his hometown of Columbus, OH in September.

On Aug. 5, Brown will meet with the chain's executive chef Adrian Whitfield to learn the chef's potato salad recipe. That evening, a Toronto Jack Astor's location will host a special event featuring Brown. The first 150 customers will receive free potato salad.

"We're thrilled that Zack accepted our invitation to develop his infamous potato salad with the team at Jack Astor's," said Somer Mullins, marketing manager for Jack Astor's. "Zack's sense of humour is the perfect pairing to our cheeky attitude, so we've got a feeling Chef Whitfield's culinary expertise will be the perfect ingredient for a winning recipe. We hope Canadians will continue to show their support for his campaign by joining us on August 5."

Jack Astor's is a subsidiary of Service Inspired Restaurants.
