Broken Heel Diaries readies event series

Toronto-based lifestyle website The Broken Heel Diaries, located at <http://www.thebhd.com>, will launch a series of promotional events on Aug. 10. The events, called "Les Ateliers," will take the form of workshops aimed primarily at women. They will be conducted in association with sponsors including Buick Canada, TD Bank Group, Yves Saint Laurent Beauté and 10 Spot Beauty. According to the company, attendees will "interact with the participating brands and discover what each can offer young professional women." Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to YWCA Toronto. Future events will focus on subjects such as fitness, cooking, finance, career and personal development.

"This concept was inspired by my desire to create an event that would give back to my readers and to women in the community," said site editor Daniella Etienne. "The long term goal is to take this show on the road [with] more workshops, more cities, more partners."
