Tim Hortons resumes Duelling Donuts contest

Tim Hortons has resumed its contest promotion Duelling Donuts for a second year. Until Aug. 1, consumers can enter by submitting a design for a new donut at <http://www.duellingdonuts.ca>. After that time, the company will select eight semi-finalists to travel to Tim Hortons head office in Oakville, ON to present their designs in person to a celebrity judging panel consisting of actor Jason Priestley, musician Jann Arden, chef Anna Olson and broadcaster Ben Mulroney. The panel will select four finalists. The grand prize winner will be determined by public voting. The winner will receive $10,000 and their design will be added to the Tim Hortons menu later this year.

"With over 63,000 entries in our inaugural Duelling Donuts contest, we were amazed by the creativity of the entries, and we saw firsthand just how passionate our guests are about donuts," said Tammy Martin, vice-president of marketing, food and merchandise at Tim Hortons. "It inspired us to make year two of Tim Hortons Duelling Donuts bigger and better, and we think this year's contest has all the makings of a great event. With weekly design themes and even more ingredients to choose from, we're confident we're going to get some really different and daring submissions. Our all-star judging panel is really going to have their work cut out for them."

The contest is being supported with social media activities on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
