MEDIACOM CHOPS ANOTHER 50 FROM PAYROLL
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Mediacom has let go another 50 employees. The main reason for the cuts is the closing of the company's silkscreening printing division in Winnipeg at the end of this week. The operation is outdated and it didn't make sense to move it to Toronto, president and CEO Brian McLean told Adnews yesterday. The rest of the employees were laid off due to more restructuring. Mediacom currently works out of six buildings in Toronto, bu it is also considering consolidating all of its Toronto operations under one roof. In August, Mediacom laid off 72 employees. These cuts were made because Mediacom was sold in July to Outdoor System Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona.
