Toronto Public Library begins transit campaign

The Toronto Public Library has begun an advertising campaign intended to inform people about the free digital books and magazines available at <http://www.tpl.ca/ereads>. The campaign, aimed primarily at commuters, consists of ads on subways, streetcars and transit shelters. The initiative is part of a long-term effort by the library to increase awareness of its digital content. Over next few months, kiosks will be install in various district libraries to demonstrate electronic books and magazines.
"Libraries have always connected people to information and there is now increasing demand for e-content," said city librarian Jane Pyper. "We want to let as many people as possible know that e-books and e-magazines are available. All you'll need to access our e-content is a library card and Internet connection."
