Sponsorship roundup

Molson Coors Canada has signed-on as a sponsor of the Calgary-based Canadian Winter Sport Institute. The company will now be the institute's exclusive beer sponsor. The multi-year agreement will also include the creation of a Molson Canadian Hockey House at the Markin MacPhail Centre, a 1,300-foot venue that will house a collection of hockey memorabilia and photographs. It will open early next year. Molson Coors Canada will also become the title sponsor of the WinSport Hockey Canada League. Each of the league's 10 divisions will be renamed for a Molson Coors brand: Molson Canadian, Coors Light, Rickards, Miller Genuine Draft, Heineken, Pilsner, Keystone, Corona, Newcastle and Strongbow. "Sport, hockey and bringing the community together have always been part of the culture at Molson Coors," said Dave Herrmann, west region vice-president for Molson Coors Canada. "The opportunity to work with such a likeminded, dynamic partner really was the perfect fit for us." The Canadian Winter Sport Institute is a not-for-profit organization that owns and operates a collection of sports facilities including Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, the Bill Warren Training Centre in Canmore and the Beckie Scott High Performance Training Centre at Haig Glacier, AB.
