Toronto-based broadcaster Asian Television Network International has launched a new specialty television channel called ATN Food Food. The nationally-distributed, 24-hour channel will specialize in the cuisine of the Indian sub-continent. The channel's programming will come via a licensing agreement with Tumeric Vision, parent company of Indian channel Food Food. Programming will also include locally produced content. "Canadians of South Asian origin consume on an average of over four million meals per day or 120 million meals per month and, needless to say, we are excited about launching North America's first international food network," said Shan Chandrasekar, president, chairman and CEO of Asian Television Network International.
