The Vancouver Province has launched a new website at VancouverDesi.com aimed primarily at the region's South Asian community. The site will provide content from South Asian communities nationally via Postmedia, as well as local reporting from The Province and various ethnic news outlets, international sources and bloggers. "For us at The Province, being local means covering a community, a diaspora and a cultural identity," said Fabian Dawson, editor of VancouverDesi.com. "VancouverDesi.com is designed to create and curate content, stimulate debate about culturally relevant issues and bring mainstream coverage into multiculturalism." The Province is published by the Pacific Newspaper Group, which is a division of Postmedia Network.
