Target readies branded hotel for TIFF

Minneapolis-based retail chain Target will conduct a promotion in Toronto during the Toronto International Film Festival. The initiative will take the form of a venue called the Target Hotel, which will involve temporarily rebranding the Templar Hotel in downtown Toronto from Sept. 6 to 8. The venue is intended to serve as a meeting place for media and film industry personnel. It will include a Filmmakers' Lounge in the penthouse suite and a special event on Sept. 8 conducted in association with CBC. Target plans to open its first retail stores in Canada next year.
