Southwest Ontario Tourism hires Surge Communications

Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation has retained Surge Communications of London, ON as its advertising agency-of-record. Surge won the account in a review involving six agencies. According to the firm, Surge was selected for its integrated services and experience in the travel sector. The agency is now working on a campaign and supporting social media activities that will begin in the spring of 2012. "The southwest region is somewhat unique in that the organization represents nine distinct areas," said Mary-Ellen Willard, vice-president of client growth and strategy at Surge. "Our challenge will be to remove the geographical boundaries for customers so that they see the region as one destination with a multitude of attractions throughout the region."
