Cogeco Diffusion rebrands CKAC in Montreal

Cogeco Diffusion has rebranded Montreal radio station CKAC as Radio Circulation 730 and changed its format to traffic, road work and weather reports for the Greater Montréal area. CKAC's previous sports programming has been partly transferred in part to 98.5 FM. "We did not make the decision to change CKAC's vocation lightly," said Richard Lachance, the company's senior vice-president. "However, in our opinion, we made the best choice given the circumstances, because the people of the Greater Montreal area have a crying need for continuous information about traffic conditions and road work. It was urgent that Radio Circulation go live early in September." Cogeco Diffusion is a subsidiary of Cogeco that operated 13 radio stations in Quebec.
