MORE TROUBLE FOR BENETTON

Italian clothing marketer Benetton is in hot water again over another controversial ad. This time it is a poster in Europe showing a black stallion mounting a white mare. Two outdoor companies in Europe have banned the ad from their sites: French group Avenir and British contractor Mills & Allen. The poster began appearing in Denmark, Norway and Belgium this week. Benetton will create a new ad for the U.K that will appear next month using outdoor and print. Advertising for the company is done in-house. Other controversial ads from Benetton include a picture of a dying AIDS patient, a human heart and a black woman breastfeeding a white baby.
