By Adnews Staff
Watts Communications of Toronto has opened Prince Edward Island's first state-of-the-art telemarketing call centre in Charlottetown. Premier Catherine Callbeck cut the ribbon on the centre on July 10 and said that the new facility represents the biggest single private sector employer in the province's history. Up to 240 people will be employed at the centre as telephone service reps. While taking advantage of Island Tel's advanced fibre optic network, the new centre also boasts the latest in Automatic Call Distributor hardware and Perimeter Management software. Watts is the oldest and one of the biggest telemarketing companies in Canada. There will be no advertising of the Centre. The Watts advertising account is held by TCP Direct of Toronto.
