Pfizer Canada begins Paralympic fundraising campaign

Pfizer Canada has begun an online fundraising campaign on behalf of the Canadian Paralympic team. The initiative includes a short film called "Believing in Yourself" that has been posted to a website at <http://www.morethanmedication.ca>. The film, created in collaboration with Zig of Toronto, features Canadian sledge hockey player and gold medal winner Todd Nicholson. The promotion encourages viewers to recommend the film to others. For each reference, Pfizer will donate five dollars to the team. The effort also includes exposure on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter and Digg. "Our goal is to raise an extra $50,000 over the next three weeks as our nation celebrates the power, spirit and skill of Paralympic athletes like Todd, who is an inspiration on and off the ice," said Ghislain Boudreau, vice-president of public affairs and stakeholder relations at Pfizer Canada. The company has been a sponsor of Paralympic sport in Canada since 1996.
