Canadian Physiotherapy Association begins national campaign

The Canadian Physiotherapy Association has begun a national advertising campaign to raise awareness of physiotheraphists and their services. This is the first national campaign in the organization's 90-year history. Television commercials are airing on CTV, TSN and Sportsnet during coverage of the 2010 Olympics. Ads are also running on CBC's News Network and TVA. Print advertising will begin in May to coincide with National Physiotherapy Month. Online materials are also being made available at <http://www.physiotherapy.ca>. The creative depicts physiotheraphists providing treatment for a variety of health conditions. "Necessary physiotherapy services should be accessible to all Canadians without delay," said association president Alice Aiken "Canadians are able to decide for themselves that they want to see a physiotherapist and they should be able to access physiotherapy, free of unwarranted legislative, bureaucratic, or economic constraints. Facilitating timely, direct access to a local physiotherapist is the most important goal of the CPA's national advertising campaign."
