New board chair at CNW Group

Newswire service CNW Group has appointed Paul Bates to the position of chairman of its board of directors. Bates is the dean and industry professor in financial management services at the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Prior to that, he worked in the brokerage industry. He has also been an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management. Bates has been a member of the CNW board for seven years.
