T.o.night to launch in Toronto next month

A new free daily newspaper will launch in Toronto on Sept. 8. Called T.o.night, the publication will be issued late in the day to coincide with the evening commute. The paper expects to have a circulation of approximately 100,000, distributed mostly to commuters in downtown public transit locations. The daily will be produced in full colour and printed on magazine stock. Jodi Isenberg has been appointed to the position of editor-in-chief. She is the former editor-in-chief of Metro Canada. Most recently she was the deputy production editor of the news section at The Globe and Mail and a news copy editor at The Toronto Star. "During the last several years of my career in newspapers, I've seen the free morning daily format become a significant and credible source of news in Canada," said Isenberg. "With T.o.night, we're working with a unique time of day and a readership that's currently underserved in terms of new information."
