Brooks Brothers hires Apex Public Relations

Clothing retailer Brooks Brothers has retained Apex Public Relations of Toronto as its Canadian PR agency of record. The assignment includes media relations, product placement, events and sponsorships. The agency's first work will be national media relations for the chain's spring and fall products, as well as the opening of the first Brooks Brothers store in Vancouver in May. The Vancouver activities will be conducted in association with Tara Parker Tait PR. Additional stores will open in Calgary and Toronto later this year. "Buzz about Brooks Brothers' foray into Canada has been gaining momentum for the past few months, and we are confident Apex will successfully leverage early excitement among Canadian consumers and media," said Brian Shaughnessy, country manager for Canada at Brooks Brothers.  "We chose Apex as our partner due to the agency's breadth of experience in the apparel market and strong relationships with fashion and lifestyle media."
