NEW YEAR'S BASH NEEDS SPONSORS

First Night Toronto is looking for sponsors for its 1997 New Year's Eve Celebration of the Arts. Packages range from $7,500 for a performance sponsorship package to $50,000 for the festival sponsorship package. Sponsorship includes on-site signs and will be integrated in the event's ad campaign, which uses print, radio, TV, transit, posters and street banners. Sponsorships are being organized by Christelle Marketing of Toronto. The party is a family-oriented, alcohol-free festival in downtown Toronto. It will feature over 400 artists in over 100 events, a parade, a children's finale and a Grande Finale. The organization expects to attract over 100,000 people. Last year's sponsors included A&P, Western Union, Beatrice Foods, Digital Equipment of Canada and Ontario Hydro. First Night Toronto is a charitable organization whose mandate is to provide an alternative to traditional New Year's Eve revelry by bringing people together to mark the passage of time through the arts.
