The Mississauga-based Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association has begun a public education campaign intended to raise awareness of the aggregates industry. The campaign includes a direct mail piece that will be distributed to 100,000 households in the Barrie and Orillia area. The creative presents a barren landscape as a depiction of what life would be like without stone, sand and gravel. The association has also introduced a new website at <http://www.theholestory.ca> that offers environmental and economic information about the industry. The site also includes a draw for $5,000 in aggregate products for the winner's home, including exterior hardscaping or interior tiling and ceramics. The campaign was developed by Field Day of Toronto. The Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association is a non-profit industry group representing approximately 250 sand, gravel and crushed stone producers and suppliers.
