SPECIALTY CHANNELS JOIN FORCES

Canadian specialty channels have teamed up to gain more advertisers. The channels have formed an association called The Canadian Association of Specialty Television that will co-ordinate research and information pieces to promote the channels and show who's watching them. It will also outline new advertising opportunities with the specialty channels. It will create a one-page Specialty Channel Update to distribute through an advertising trade journal and develop a Guide to Canadian Specialty Channels, which will be updated annually. Canada's specialty channel includes Bravo!, Discovery Canada, the Life Network, New Country Network, Women's Television Network and Showcase Television.
